Possible upcoming products in future Ipsy bags

Warning the following post contains screenshots from Michelle Phan’s Follow Me To Work Day video. She posted the video back in November and since then I and members of Makeup Talk have made comments about the products shown in the video back in late November through December. I think most of us forgot about the video containing spoilers and if it weren’t for one of my members bringing the video up again to discuss March’s items… Well she’s the reason for this post because she’s right that one of the items in the video are definately coming in March and many others we have already received in the December, January and February bags with other items not yet seen in any bags. If you don’t want to be spoiled don’t click the link below.

Shown at 1:43 are two Z Palettes – one mini and one large – along with single shadows, blushes and bronzers possibly from Coastal Scents. The tops of Sexy Hair along with some Pacifica can be seen in this screenshot as well. As most will note, subscribers received the Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange body butter and the Big Sexy Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray in January 2013 Ipsy bag. We have yet to see the other products shown. Note: According to Facebook, Ipsy states it’s NOT a Zpalette but rather a mirrored palette. Hmm.. NOW I’m absolutely curious since if it’s not a Zpalette then what is it? It’s a makeup palette for sure but not a Zpalette. Maybe one from Mirabella then? (Edit 3/1/2013: I forgot to update this blog post but while members are not getting a Zpalette in the March Ipsy bag members are getting a magnetic palette from Glam RX. So while a palette was shown in the video what is coming in March is a palette from a different company.)

Shown at 2:18 is a better shot of the Z Palettes along with Michelle trying the Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil which ended up coming in the January 2013 Ipsy bag. More of the single shadows which we know will be coming in the March 2013 Ipsy Bag. Still not known when or if the blushes and bronzers will be making an appearance but I do know many people have been clamoring for a real blush and bronzer. Also seen in that screenshot are theBalm’s Meet Matt(e) palette and NYX Cosmetics Loose Pearl Eyeshadows and the December 2012 Ipsy bag.

At 2:22 we get a better look at the December 2012 bag, Sexy Hair products, Be A Bombshell blushes, Pop Beauty Lash Kapow mascara that came in the February 2013 bag, the NYX shadows, Nailtini which came again in the January 2013 bag, Josie Maran, Pacific and in the plastic bag next to Michelle are MicaBeauty products – one of which is the gel eyeliner subscribers received in February 2013. I see in the plastic bag MicaBeauty shadows and possibly blush (the larger containers) but that I’m not sure on but definitely MicaBeauty shadows were in that bag. At 2:25 she’s testing Mai Couture Highlighter Papier that ended up in the December 2012 bag. 2:28 she is smelling Pacifica Perfumes roller ball perfume which we have yet to see in our Ipsy bags… maybe for March or April? (BTW – you can see a picture of me several times in this video. I still hate the group picture since I was trying hard not to laugh and ended up with a weird expression. LOL Oh well, what can be done? LOL)

At 3:33 behind Nicole you can see a bin of pink bags with a girl on the bag. Possibly future Ipsy bag? Maybe a prototype for one we’ll never get? Guess we’ll just have to wait an see. 😉 I alluded to on my Facebook wall and on Makeup Talk about how one company will be working with Ipsy and we’ll be getting more products from them. I won’t say who the company is but here are a few more screenshots from Michelle’s video. 😉

Urban Decay’s Naked Skin BB cream was sent to select members in December, Be A Bombshell lipgloss was also sent out in December along with the Urban Decay eyeliner. The Urban Decay travel primer was sent out in the first MyGlam bag in December 2011

Mirabella’s Prime for Face & Eyes is seen in the screenshot above and we ended up with that in our December 2012 bags. The item I can’t identify is the black box with red lettering behind the NYX shadows. What ever that is we haven’t seen that in our Ipsy bags yet either.

That’s pretty much it. So over the next few weeks and months we’ll see how it plays out. Can’t WAIT for my Ipsy bags because everything looks really good!

Ipsy: March 2013 sneak peek

Warning below are a few sneak peeks to the March 2013 Ipsy bag. The official theme has not been announced yet but it’s most likely a Nautical one due to the bag.

Time to get away? What do you think our March Glam Bag theme is?” Makeup Sets – Officially announced February 27, 2013
These images were found by a member of MakeupTalk and the links to these images were shared in the March 2013 Ipsy discussion thread. Typically there are about five items in a bag each month, sometimes only four and sometimes six. At this time only two products have been found but as soon as more pop up I’ll post it here.

“Eye shadows so gorgeous you’ll plan a getaway just to wear them.”Eyeshadow – brand unknown at this time, possibly Coastal ScentsNote: On 3/1/2013 Ipsy posted it’s NOT Coastal Scents.3/6/2013: A MUT member confirmed it’s Yaby after contacting them.

“Travel to your dream destination in style with this clever travel must-have.“Makeup palette – ZPalette Strike that, going back to unknown palette
Ok, it’s now officially official – Glam RX Mini Freestyle palette
Big thanks to the members of MakeupTalk whom once again are fantastic detectives and found these images so far.

Edit: Officially we don’t know the brands yet however we’re guessing it’s a 1 inch Coastal Scents shadows since we’re seeing only one pan in the plastic case and possibly the large red Zpalette but again at this time we just don’t know for sure. More info coming as soon as either I or the members of MUT find more info.

Edit #2: I believe we have confirmation in Michelle’s video “Follow Me To Work Day” posted back in November. One of my eagle eyed members at Makeup Talk realized it. Pause it at 1:43-ish or 2:18. (Hopefully down the road we get the Pacifica perfumes since I’m now obsessed with their Tuscan Blood Orange lotion.)

Edit #3: It’s official, it’s the Z Palette. It’s officially NOT a Zpalette… unless they’re trying to trick us… lol. Ipsy posted on Facebook it’s NOT a ZPalette but rather a mirrored palette. Maybe by Mirabella then?

Edit #4: Ok, so I’m crushed if it’s not the ZPalette after all… crushed hopes and dreams… guess I’ll have to wait for PHAME then. LOL But pictures of items #3 & 4 (spoilers #4 & #5) have made their way to Makeup Talk’s forums. Like always keep in mind that we won’t know for sure until more info comes out.

Toners & Astringents – “In the sky, or on land, hydration has never been so fun or so easy!

Face Treatmenets – “Freshen up with ease with these on-the-go towelettes!
Edit #5: Geeze, the ladies on MUT are fast. It’s being reported that the wipes are LA Fresh travel wipes.

Edit #6: Mystery solved! Ipsy officially released what it is via email. It’s the Glam RX Mini Freestyle Palette. Still working on the other items. LOL Members can’t figure out the toner/astringent but the guesses are between Murad, Juice Beauty and a few other items. LOL

Edit #7: Here’s the pic of the palette from their email to Ipsy members who are not Ipsy bag subscribers.

Edit #8 (3/6): No more spoiler pics. Ipsy announced on their Facebook wall a day or two ago that there were no more spoilers. One of the members on Makeup Talk was then wondering if Spoiler #1 wasn’t just a bag since it’s listed on the Ipsy site as Makeup Sets. Past months have never really included the bag as part of the sneak peek so it’s POSSIBLE that we’re not just getting a makeup bag but rather a couple like a set as it’s listed.

One thing is for sure, they at Ipsy made it REALLY hard to guess and figure things out this month which made this basically like a big ol’ scavenger hunt. It’s been really fun trying to figure things out even though it’s also been really frustrating. LOL Basically we’ll know for sure within the next few days since it’s already March 6 and bags typically start going out around the 10th and members start posting their bags around that time.

Ok, it’s been confirmed by Yaby that they will be in the March Ipsy bags. One of the members at Makeup Talk posted this:

Yaby
Sharp eyes!! Yaby has two eyeshadows I. This month’s glam bag. Keep an eye on the ipsy page and site, as we have some very cute items you can win with your videos!

Images missing?

I finally ran out of room on Google/Blogger so I’ve been using Photobucket/TinyPic lately but I rather use Google/Blogger. I’ve deleted every single photo and album from my account right now and will be going through each post I’ve made over the last two years (a little under 400 700 posts) to re-add images as needed. It’s going to be a pain but thankfully I don’t have more posts. LOL

Pantone: Fall 2013 Fashion Colors Reports

Pantone once again has released the colors that will be trending this fall. Nine gorgeous colors will be joining Emerald, the 2013 Color of the Year, this fall. Expect to see these ten colors not only in fashion but also cosmetics and nail products.

Acai

Carafe

Deep Lichen Green

Emerald

Koi

Linden Green

Mykonos Blue

Samba

Turbulence

Vivacious

NOTE: TPX stands for Pantone Textile Paper eXtended which TCX stands for Textile Cotton. Colors are essentially the same regardless of it being TPX or TCX. For more information visit Pantone’s website.

I think the reason why the designer colors are different than the Pantone swatches is due to designer interpretations. For example Acai is a more vibrant and bolder purple while the actual Pantone swatch is more dull. Samba is more of an orange but the designer version is more of a red while Koi appears more like Samba when it’s more yellow in the swatch. Turbulence in the designer color is more on the gray side but in the Pantone swatch appears to be more of plum. Vivacious in the Pantone swatch is on the orange side while the designer Vivacious appears to be a hot pink.

My favorite designer colors are Mykonos Blue, Acai and Samba but the actual Pantone color is disappointing because the colors are dull or not like the designer colors. I hope when it comes to translate the colors in cosmetics or nail polish the colors lean towards the designer colors.

For more information on the designers who contributed these sketches to Pantone visit the Pantone site.

Lilly’s Lashes

If you’re a BRAVO fan then you probably watch Shahs of Sunset. If you do then you’re familiar with Lilly Ghalichi and how the “Persian Barbie” is best known for her false hair and eyelashes; Lilly has launched her own lash line called Lilly Lashes. These are available for pre-order now but won’t ship until February 25, 2013.

There are 13 pairs of upper lashes, three pairs of lower lashes, five sets of individual lashes which include two sets of lower and three sets of upper individual lashes. All her lashes are $6.99 each.

So anyone planning on ordering? I know I see a few pairs that are calling to me and shipping is only $5.99. I’m kind of torn because of past products sold by Real Housewives not living up to the hype but these are lashes that look gorgeous and not sold by any of the Real Housewives since she’s from Shahs of Sunset. I might cave and order the three pairs I’m eying but I don’t know. Ack! Torn!

The two palettes I received were Love Affair with Louis and Je Ne Sais Quoi. Love Affair with Louis contains two gorgeous colors that just call to me – the teal that’s smack dab in the center of the palette and the dark denim blue beneath it. The top right color is also gorgeous but I really like the teal the most out of all the colors. If they sold that teal individually I would be a happy camper.

From the Je Ne Sais Quoi palette the second column of colors are among my favorites from that particular palette. I found those three to be the smoothest of the nine colors in that palette and are very nice in terms of pigmentation. The only color I’m not really crazy about is the silvery color seen in the first column at the bottom left. It feels chunky like the gold and peach colors from the Bellini Kiss palette (Love in Florence collection). To me that particular silvery color just lacked in pigmentation and had too much fall out for my liking. I think over a white or silver base, such as Milk, Cottage Cheese or Pots and Pans Jumbo Pencil it will work but over a nude base it’s just patchy.

Over all I really like these nine pan palettes from the Love In Paris collection and I plan on picking up C’est La Vie and maybe Pardon My French because I really like the greens in those palettes.

My thoughts:

While I love XOXO Mona I’m not fond of Bellini Kiss. The gold in Bellini Kiss along with the peachy shadow next to it are too crumbly and have a lot of fall out while at the same time are not as pigmented as the other colors in the palette. The other three colors are gorgeous though and much more smooth than the gold and peach.

My thoughts

I really like Escape with Rico and found all three colors to be flattering on my skin. I also like but haven’t used on myself Caipirinhas on the Beach. The colors in both palettes I have are well pigmented, smooth and not chalky at all.

My only disappointment with the Loves in Rio palettes is that there are too many brown variations with a few very similar to each other with slight variations. The palettes that call to me are En Fuego and Life Is A Cha Cha. I actually wish that one of the brown palettes had a deep lush forest green but there is always the Love in Paris and Love in Florence palettes that do have lush deep forest greens.

Over all, I like these trio shadow palettes and plan on picking up a couple more at my local Ulta during the BOGO sale.

Birchbox delays!

I am so jealous of those who already got their boxes. Looks like mine will be delayed a few days which means I probably won’t see my box until March. 😦 *sigh* Oh well, I’ll live. I hope those on the East Coast are warm and safe.

Dear Birchbox Customer,

Due to the severe winter conditions caused by Storm Nemo, your February Birchbox will be delayed. Your box was scheduled to ship by the 10th but it will now ship no later than Wednesday, February 13th. We will email you with tracking information as soon as your box has shipped.

As of Friday evening, our shipping carrier UPS suspended pickups from our warehouse due to dangerous road conditions. In addition, the storm is causing our labor crews to run short-staffed over the weekend which is preventing us from finishing final production on your boxes. We are doing everything in our power to make up for these setbacks and expedite the production and shipment of your box.

We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience. If you or your family live in the area, we hope you are safe and warm and drinking plenty of hot cocoa.

Our customer service team will be back in the offices Monday morning and ready to help you with any questions.

Thank you,

Team Birchbox
