Woot my order from Glamour Doll Eyes came today! I had ordered both Foil Me products – dropper ($4.50) and tube ($5.25). Looks like the Foil Me dropper is now sold out.
I’ve been using a variety of products to apply my loose shadows and pigments. I have used eye drops to dampen my shadow brush and I’ve applied Hard Candy’s Show Girl’s Secret, Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy, Eye Kandy’s Liquid Sugar and Lit Cosmetics’ Clearly Liquid to my eye lid then applied my shadow or pigment; each product has it’s own merits and while I’ve repurchased many of those products I’m always on the hunt for something else to try.
Foil Me comes with a little card with the instructions on how to use it which is nice especially for those who have never used this type of product. Trust me, when I say a LITTLE of any of these products goes a long, LONG way.
Ingredients: Water, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Polysorbate 20, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben and Propylparaben.
I’m REALLY excited to try Foil Me since while I like the other products to apply my loose shadows and pigments sometimes I find the other products to be a bit too sticky or dry too fast. Vee can correct me if I’m wrong but looking at the dropper vs the tube it looks like the tube is more of a gel-like consistency while the dropped is a wee bit thinner in consistency.
I also ordered a full size tin of (non-vegan) Control Freak (primer, $10.75) since I finally ran out of my sample (which lasted me four months until Halloween). I think Control Freak is among my favorite primers since I find myself using it along with Lime Crime’s primer the most out of all my primers. I keep misplacing my primer from Saucebox Cosmetics because it’s round like an eyeshadow and I tend to put it back with my round shadows then in my box with primers and foiling products. I have a ton of Urban Decay primers and just don’t use those as often as I do Control Freak from GDE or Shadow Helper form LC. It may seem to be on the pricey side at $10.75 for approximately 0.39 oz of product but it’s worth the price because it will last a long time since you use very little of it. Just to compare prices, Lime Crimes Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Helper is $16.99 for 0.25 oz while Urban Decay’s Primer Potion travel size is $9 for 0.13 oz so Control Freak isn’t pricey at all and best of all it doesn’t dry out as easily as other primers do if you don’t close the top all the way.
Like always, orders from Glamour Doll Eyes comes with a couple of free samples and this time I sent Backstabber (a gorgeous green… which I’m so going to have to hide from my daughter who swiped my other free sample which was a different green) and Veteran (which a gorgeous dark navy blue with red sparkles).
Have you used Foil Me or Control Freak from GDE? If so what do you think of it?
